Fun stickers πŸ’— + holiday cross stitch πŸŽ„ + binding tips πŸͺ‘

Welcome to the 45th edition of the Sewfinity newsletter, written by me, Angela Bowman.

Hi from Angela

Good morning, sunshine πŸ˜„

A couple months ago I received an email from someone who had just placed an order. She realized she made a mistake and ordered the wrong fabric color. She asked if I could catch the order and change it.

I replied right away and said that I can absolutely take care of that for her. It was an easy peasy edit I made, all good.

She replied right away. I figured that her response would be just a quick thanks, and that's what her first sentence was.

But then there was a whole extra long paragraph after that. I saw that it was a big chunk of words, took a deep breath, and nervously started reading it. In my experience, lots of words are either really good or really bad.

I quickly read it then deeply exhaled, realizing I was literally holding my breath. I read it again more slowly. And then I read it again even more slowly. It was such an out-of-the-blue genuine compliment. I am still glowing from her words.

What did she say? I just posted it on the front of our website, and I'll share it below, too.

So when was the last time you received a compliment that took your breath away? It doesn't happen very often, does it?

What if you set aside 5 minutes today and kindly give someone positive feedback? It could be for someone you know or for a stranger for some minor little thing. It's a gift of your time and your words that'll make their day. It REALLY meant a lot to me. πŸ₯°

Okay, so there's my feel-good pitch for today. In other sewing news, I've got some fun new stickers, holiday cross stitch (hello scarved reindeer!), and some binding tips from Darla. Oh, and you have to see a super gorgeous customer order and the Pineberry quilt kit I made with Sewfinity Colorway. Read on for that good stuff.

And a reminder for today: let's be like Wren and spread positivity!

New stickers

How fun are these new stickers by Cotton and Joy?!

A fun little thing to add to your fabric cart before you check out βœ”

Holiday cross stitch

Wouldn't it be nice to have a finished cross stitch to decorate your home for the holidays? Now's the time to start, and we have some new patterns for you.

This one is called Reindeer Cheer, designed by Lindsey of Counting Puddles. The way she designed those decorated trees in cross stitch... it's like the thread is sparkling! And the reindeer is wearing a scarf?! Just adorable.

There's more for you to see, including a patchwork angel, a harvest moon raven, and more. Plus I've curated floss bundles and coordinating fabric, so you'll have everything you need. Even the hoop stand!

Binding tips

Our blog writer Darla is at it again, this time talking about binding. She says:

After reading β€œThe Quilt Binding Bible” by Marci Baker, it was time to give a couple of her techniques a try. Because oddly enough, a quilt was ready to finish. Finish! It’s almost like a national holiday.

Marci’s book included lots of binding options, and lots of ways to make them all perfect. I decided to see if my usual process could use an update. I tried just a couple of simple tweaks (baby steps, friends). You can read how it went, what I thought and what I’ll be doing from now on.

Inspiring customer order

I just have to share this gorgeous customer order with you - it makes me wanna sew! It's 2 bundles:

Pantone Color of the Year 2026 - Tropic Tonalities

Living Green - Essex Yarn Dyed

Colorway quilt kit: Pineberry

Here's a recent quilt kit I made with Sewfinity Colorway: Pineberry quilt - cover - Kona Cotton

Doesn't Kona Cotton in Desert Green make a beautiful background color? It's such a pleasing neutral with a hint of color.

We also offer the pattern: Pineberry quilt pattern

A glowing customer review

Here's the customer note I told you about.

If you are so inclined to spread some kindness, I'd love it if you'd take 30 seconds to leave us a quick 5-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review on Google - it's a purely neutral way to leave your feedback, while helping with our product awareness.

Or if you want to share feedback privately, just reply to this email. Thank you!

Every month (or so) Angela writes a letter about her thoughts, behind-the-scenes stuff at Sewfinity, and things worth knowing in the world of sewing. It's like getting a nice letter in the mail. Not too spammy. And not too often.
