Good morning, sunshine 😄

Here we are, August is almost done. The wildfire smoke is lifting, school is back in session, and my lavender plants are in their second bloom. The end of August always feels like a new beginning to me: nights get cooler, I turn another year older, and I start planning what I want to nestle in with for the fall and winter. I'm thinking some sewing and snuggling with the hubs ❤️

Have you seen that we've spiffed up the website? We updated our theme, polished and modernized some things, and added a new filter for sewing patterns: Technique. Very helpful if you want to find patterns that use specific techniques such as applique, curved piecing, foundation paper piecing, improv, and more.

Did you also see we added a new pattern designer to our lineup? We do not do that very often (I'm super picky about pattern design and quality), so this is a big deal. It's Elizabeth Hartman! She's known for her pictorial quilt patterns, and they are all pretty much made with simple stitch-and-flip piecing. She has a ton of printed patterns, and we have most of them at Sewfinity now. There's a few new ones that she's releasing any day now (Busy Backyard is adorable!), and we have them on order.

In fabric news: Art Gallery Fabrics released 12 new colors in their Pure Solids fabric collection, as well as an updated color swatch card. And read on to see my favorite recent customer order and a Colorway bundle - such gorgeousness.

Oxblood: a rich dark red
Sorbet: a scrumptious bright tint of orange
Buttercup: such a happy yellow tint
Picnic Green: a crispy cheerful green

Marshmallow: a puffy yummy off-white
Mountain Flower: a pretty blue-cyan-violet pastel
Stormwash: a dusty tone of blue-cyan
