Let me tell you.... we had some of our busiest days ever in the Sewfinity warehouse this week. Due in part to The Grimoire quilt pattern released by Eva of Gingerly Quilt Co.

What's Grimoire? (confession: I had to look it up). It's a book of magic, or a spell book. Think potions, stories of dragons, enchanted roses.

This quilt is perfect for book lovers and fantasy fans. Each block is designed by a different top-notch designer, made with a mix of techniques: conventional piecing, foundation paper piecing, and a touch of curved piecing.

I've been working with Eva for the past few months to create quilt kits for The Grimoire. I got a preview of the quilt design and knew Sewfinity needed to be on board. I started making fabric orders from our manufacturers and wondered "how well would these sell?"

Well that question got answered this week, and let me tell you: you all love this quilt 🖤

I've already run out of black fabrics from 2 manufacturers and got rushed restocks. So we are fully-stocked again for some Grimoire goodness. Annnnd a first for us: I used our COLORWAY tool to build these kits! It's a perfect way to use this tool, more on that below.

My favorite block is the 🥀 enchanted rose, and I just might make a banner or a pillow of that one for myself.

Grimoire quilt kits

It’s here, The Grimoire quilt! Compiled by Eva of Gingerly Quilt Co, this is a Dark Magic sampler style quilt with blocks designed by 13 spectacular designers.

We have twin size quilt kits in 4 versions of solids: Pure, Confetti, Bella, and Kona. Want to make only one block? Get one of our block kits made of Pure Solids.

These are the first kits we built with our COLORWAY tool - it’s such a great way to use this tool!

Rather than being forced to buy a preassembled quilt kit, you can use COLORWAY to tweak things up a bit:

• Already have a fabric color in your stash? Just remove it from the "Buy" panel.
• Want to swap out some of the colors? Go to "Find Colors" panel, click the swatches you want, and enter your quantities in the "Buy" panel.
• Need to add backing or binding to your kit? Same deal.
• Need more yardage of specific colors to make duplicate blocks? Up your quantities in the Buy panel.

I'm already seeing many of you customizing your kits like this. I hope you're enjoying the flexibility COLORWAY offers 😁

Busy Backyard is here

Last month I told you about Elizabeth Hartman's upcoming patterns, and we just got 'em. Here’s Busy Backyard - I love the little ladybugs and the log cabin snails. And the frog!

There's 3 other patterns to see: Posy, Pups in Pajamas, and Pajama Party (that's a lot of P's!).

These patterns are large letter-size booklets, are very well written, and have large text and illustrations, making it easy to read and follow. I really appreciate Elizabeth's attention to these details - they make her patterns a joy to use.
