🎨 New in COLORWAY: Save and Share

Welcome to the 44th edition of the Sewfinity newsletter, written by me, Angela Bowman.

Hi from Angela

Meridian Idaho, Sunday May 10, 2026

Good morning 😄 And Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!

My big news today: you can now save and share your carefully curated Sewfinity Colorway palettes! Plus I finally published some videos on Instagram and YouTube, showcasing what Colorway can do. I'll share those below.

Okay, so... saving and sharing: what's the big deal? Oh my gosh it's a huge deal.

Thing is, I use Colorway myself. I've been dreaming up things I want this tool to do, and the ability to save was at the top of the list. I want to be able to plan out my projects, goshdangit! So since I'm a planner, you get the ability to be a planner, too 🤓

And the new sharing feature: generate a shareable link that makes it easy to spread the word about the fabrics in your palettes, which is great for sending to your sewing buds (because they always want to know!).

So how can you use Sewfinity Colorway?

💛 Plan out the fabric for the projects you want to make this year - save a palette for each project. You'll be so organized and you'll have thousands of timeless solid colors at your disposal. The visual nature of Colorway makes quilt planning fun!

❤️ Build a usable fabric stash - it's time to finally do this. Save color-themed palettes to help you keep colors strategically stocked in your stash so you're not stuck without the fabrics you need when inspiration strikes.

💜 Discover matching or complementary colors for a specific quilt pattern or project. You'll get inspired and enjoy browsing color - it sparks creativity!

💙 That solid quilt that you showed off to your quilting group and now everyone wants to know the fabrics you used? Create a palette and email a link to them.

💚 Organizing a group sewing project? Create the fabric color palette and share the link in your group so everyone is on the same page.

Now go enjoy using Colorway - it's free to use!

Saving and Sharing in Colorway

Here's a screenshot of my current palettes. Isn't that Fairfax Christmas palette lovely?

Anyway, this new "My Palettes" view lets you browse all of your saved palettes at a glance. Each palette is displayed as a card, with options to delete, share, and open.

Here's the official feature announcement if you'd like to learn a little more:

Build a bundle: violet & green gradient

I created this palette digitally in Colorway, rounded up the colors from our fat quarter bins, and promptly gasped. It's so pretty!

These colors say springtime to me. 💜💚

Here's the Colorway bundle: Violet - green - gradient - Confetti Cotton - 24 FQ. From there, you can navigate to the palette where you have the option to edit, buy, save, and share your own copy.

Here's the video (I'm getting better at this video thing!):

Build a quilt kit: Pathfinder

Colorway is perfect for building custom quilt kits, and that's just what I did with the Pathfinder quilt by Sarah Ruiz.

The cover version uses fabrics from the now defunct Boundless collection by Craftsy, but Sarah gave me the conversion to Kona Cotton Solids, so here you go!

Here's the Colorway kit for the throw size: Pathfinder quilt - cover - throw - Kona Cotton

We also offer the pattern: Pathfinder quilt pattern

Build a bundle: yellow gradient

Mmmm, a buttery soft yellow gradient of Pure Solids by Art Gallery Fabrics 🫠

Here's the Colorway bundle: Yellow - gradient - Pure Solids - 12 FQ

This was my very first video, but I swear I'm getting better! Also, this is where I figured out that placing the microphone right next to my computer mouse gives nice clicky ASMR vibes 😌

Build a quilt kit: Paper Star

Another custom quilt kit, this one is Paper Star by Audrey of Cotton and Bourbon.

The cover shows a 2-color version, but there's also a striking 6-color version on page 6 of the pattern.

Here's the Colorway kit for the large size: Paper Star quilt - multi-color Celestial - large - Kona Cotton

We also offer the pattern: Paper Star quilt pattern

YouTube Shorts

If you'd rather watch these videos on YouTube, this is for you.

I dusted off our channel to add some YouTube Shorts, and I'll be adding lots more.

We only have a handful of subscribers, so I'd love it if you'd subscribe.

Every month (or so) Angela writes a letter about her thoughts, behind-the-scenes stuff at Sewfinity, and things worth knowing in the world of sewing. It's like getting a nice letter in the mail. Not too spammy. And not too often.
